Systemic Therapy

Systemic therapy refers to a type of therapy that addresses the individual within the context of their relationships and wider social system. This can include family therapy, couples therapy, and group therapy. The goal of systemic therapy is to help individuals understand and change patterns of behavior that are influenced by the dynamics of their relationships and social environment. This type of therapy often emphasizes communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills to help individuals and groups improve their relationships and overall functioning.

Many different individuals and groups can benefit from systemic therapy, some examples include families experiencing conflicts or communication problems, couples dealing with relationship issues such as infidelity or differences in parenting styles, children and adolescents with behavioral or emotional problems that are impacting their functioning at home or in school, individuals with chronic health conditions or disabilities and their caregivers, groups or organizations facing challenges such as poor communication or conflicts among members.

It can be helpful for people who are experiencing relational conflicts, difficulties in communication, or other issues that are impacting their relationships or overall functioning. Additionally, it is also beneficial for people who want to improve their relationship skills and learn how to better navigate the dynamics of their social environment. It can be used in a variety of settings such as in schools, hospitals, community centers, workplaces and private practices.
